What a busy few months have passed since my last post! I am very grateful that summer is gone and fall is here.  I absolutely love everything about this time of year.

I only have little bit to talk about on the stitching front.  The little patriotic design Eagle by Sheepish Designs is now finished. It really was a fun stitch!

My current project is Miriam Chilver's Sampler 1833.  I was so drawn to this design stitched by nine year old Miriam. The little girl/lady's curly hair seems to underscore the irrepressible joy of the sampler itself. When I look at it, I think of a child dressed in new party clothes who barely stands still long enough to have a picture taken before the child off and running. It would interesting to know if the girl/young lady that Miriam included in her sampler is a representation of herself or someone else she knew. I love the colors in the design, too.

My daughter and I participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure with friends this year. She ran and I walked. The race had about 1,000 more participants than last and year and raised $25,000 over goal! Here's my wonderful daughter before lining up to run.

The Georgia National Fair was also this month so we made our annual trip for corn dogs and peach cobbler with ice cream. Thank goodness fair food is a once a year thing!

It's always fun to tour the exhibit halls, especially the art and needlework exhibits.  It was surprising how few cross stitch entries there were.  Here are a few things that especially caught my eye.

That's it for now.  Thank you for stopping by to visit.  Have a great rest of the week!

Dona, the sheepish design finish is really cute and I love Miriam! I have her chart and the colours you are showing are so much better than what's on the chart. I want to stitch this one now!

Love your finish and wip. Your daughter is beautiful! How nice you two ran together, even if there was one walking;)

Your finish is so, so lovely--I haven't seen that one before...

How nice that you and your daughter were both able to do the walk/run together--that is an incredible amount of money that was raised :)

Congratulations on the finish, Dona! I just love that Sheepish piece. I need to stitch it soon! Your Miriam is adorable, too. As Melissa said, I can't get over how much better your pic looks than what the chart shows--it definitely made its way up my 'to do now' list.

Lovely photo of your beautiful DD! Congrats on raising so much money.

Congrats on the Eagle finish - love that piece. Sheepish Designs just have the greatest pieces, don't they? And Miriam is fantastic! I love your description of her in her party dress barely standing still for a photo. LOL!! Your daughter is beautiful - how fun you guys did the 5k together!

Tell your daugther "Thank you" for those of us that are survivors. It is a great to see everyone that gets involved for a good cause.

I was wondering if you had any interest in selling your pattern "Eagle" now that you are done. I love to do these designs and realize this is one no longer available. If so contact me at baboughamer@sbcglobal.net.
Happy Thanksgiving.
