Well, so much for a rotation schedule! Really, today my viewpoint is that it's much more enjoyable to stitch whatever I feel like stitching rather than having to stitch what's on the schedule. Then again, tomorrow I could feel differently about it.

I worked some on Shores this week. It's fun to stitch, but I am a slow stitcher and haven't gotten very far. I'm glad that I chose 40 count Antique Cotton for the fabric. It's my favorite gold toned fabric. I decided to change the thread for the outlining of the square as black seemed a little heavy for the fabric color, and decided on GAST Freedom, a deep navy, and I'm happy with it. I do need a camera that takes clearer pictures and captures truer colors. The fabric is very gold, but it's not showing up in the picture.

It rained for a few days here and poured yesterday. BabyGirl was home for the weekend. We stayed in Saturday afternoon because of the rain and watched Pride and Prejudice together while I stitched.

Miss Kitty tried to bring a little yellow finch into the house to show off her hunting skills, but we rescued the bird which fortunately was able to fly away. I asked Miss Kitty to please stick with lizards instead.

I think your choice of substitution for the black is a really great one seeing that this piece is about the sea. Can't wait to see your progress! I'm working on this also and just finished Block 2, but I'm like you, I have a hard time with rotations, which I've been doing. I like stitching on what hits me at the moment.

Looking good, Dona! I like your substitutions. It'll make it all your own unique piece. I have a hard time with rotations too. Every time I try, I fail! lol!

Dona, I am also of the slow stitcher club. :~) But this start is really nice. I love the color substitutions you've made and that fabric is wonderful. I will have to keep Antique Cotton in mind the next time I need a good gold color.

Dona, what fabulous changes you've made! YGG! As far as the rotation goes, I say go with what works for you--one at a time, whatever strikes your fancy, or regimented. It's meant to be fun!

Stitching should make you happy, Dona. Stitch what you want, when you want!

I think it is a great idea to change out the black to navy.
I like your choice in fabrics.

Love your start on Shores ~ I especially love the blue border; great choice! I'm not a good rotation stitcher either and I'm a pretty slow stitcher at that~ I only get an hour or two in the evening (and sometimes no time at all) so a rotation is really hard. I feel like I never accomplish anything if I stitch in a rotation.

I hope Miss Kitty will leave those birdies alone!
