Yesterday we had several inches of snow - very exciting for us! It's beautiful and doesn't stay around long enough to become tired of it. It was so cozy inside with a cheerful, crackling fire, a pot of New Chicken Gumbo Soup, a glass of wine and my needle. Life is good.
Today the sun came out and the snow capped trees sparkled against the sharp blue sky. Even Miss Kitty ventured out into the snow early this morning.
I've worked a little on a few designs. I'm enjoying them all so much it's hard to decide which to work on!

Quaker Friday got me started working on a sweet reproduction sampler I've wanted to start for several months - The Little Red R Sampler. This one is very fun to stitch. When I studied the chart before I started it, I didn't really notice the little odd things in the design - unbalanced symmetry, dropped stitches - that make it intriguing to stitch. I wonder who stitched it, how old she was, and if it was a practice or learning piece, and if she cared about the odd little stitched places or was just glad to have it done.
Not much done on Kind Fond Love. I haven't worked on it much and miss it. They still don't have their heads, but are almost clothed.
That is it for now. Happy Valentine's Day!

There is nothing better than snow and chilly temperatures to put you in the mind for stitching. All your pieces look wonderful. I wish I'd joined in on the Quaker Fridays. I forgot about that cute little piece. But, I'll resist. Too many other things on the scroll rods.
You've got some wonderful WIPs Dona. I love the GH - Little Red R Sampler.
Wonderful WIPs! I enjoy seeing them all! I have Kind Fond Love going but it's over one on 32ct -- which means it will be a forever project. lol!
Oh wow, the snow pictures are gorgeous.
Love your stitched bits and pieces too. The Quaker Friday piece is so pretty.
Wow Dona!! All of your wips are beautiful. And I'm so proud of you for sticking to Quaker Friday!! You were smart to pick a smaller project for it! Can't wait to see more! :)
I'm always so glad to see an update from you, Dona! Your WIPs look great. I love your Quaker Friday project. I enjoy wondering who stitched these pieces I'm reproducing with my needle and thread, wonder what their lives were like, who loved them, who kept their samplers safe to hand down through the ages.
Fun snow pics, too! I love how peaceful everything looks.
What beautiful snow pictures, Dona! Your WIPs are gorgeous and you're making great progress on all of them. KFL is one on my "want to do one day list" as is VoHRH.... one day....
Dona, all your WIP's are gorgeous and interesting ones! I especially love that Quaker piece. I've been sitting on the fence with that one but may have to succumb!
Lovely snowy photos!
Beautiful snow photos!! And your WIPs are looking beautiful. I love your KFL on that fabric. I need to invest in some Maritime White I think!
Hi Dona, yes the snow was quite lovely and it was nice to be home and all snuggly, we had chicken noodle soup!! not wine though, but did stitch the day away!!
Heading to the quilt shop in Jackson, if you are not busy, so you want to come (and your Mom too)

I love all your WIPs! And the snow is so pretty, even though by now I despise it. But it's so much prettier in your picture than in our driveway...
